MANILA, Philippines – Popular Ludy’s peanut butter has joined the list of local peanut butter products contaminated with salmonella, reports said today.
The Bureau of Food and Drugs had earlier ordered the recall of Yummy Sweet and Creamy Peanut Spread with batch numbers 3040905 and 11240810, and expiry dates 90409 and 52409 for salmonella contamination.
Salmonella is a known disease-causing organism. Among the illnesses it can bring are typhoid and paratyphoid fevers, and diarrhea.
